What is The Praxis Collective?
The Praxis Collective is a school of thought and a community of seekers devoted to reclaiming, revitalizing, and integrating the wisdom of ancient and forgotten belief systems into modern life. We are part book club, part discussion forum, part living library, part classroom, and part blog—all united by a shared commitment to depth over noise.

Who is this for?
The Praxis Collective is for anyone who feels the pull of forgotten wisdom—whether you are a seasoned scholar of the arcane or just beginning to hear the whisper of the old gods. If you have ever fallen down a rabbit hole of ancient myth, esoteric philosophy, or comparative religion and wished you had companions to explore it with, you have found your people.

What does "Praxis" mean?
Praxis is the practice of an art, science, or skill—the application of theory into action. For us, it means that knowledge must not be merely accumulated. It must be lived. We do not read simply to know. We read to transform.

What is the Scriptorium Society?
The Scriptorium Society is our book club—a dedicated society of readers who treat each text as a sacred artifact and every reading as a collaborative ritual. Each month, we select a primary source or scholarly work, read it deeply, and gather to discuss, debate, and internalize it.

What is the Arcanum?
The Arcanum is our Living Library—a curated, growing collection of digital resources including scanned fragments of ancient texts, annotated bibliographies, curated links to scholarly databases, and community-created primers. It is living because members contribute to it, annotate it, and expand it.

What is the Agora of Whispers?
The Agora is our discussion board—the beating heart of the Collective. It is where members gather to ask questions, share insights, debate ideas, and explore the mysteries together. It is named after the ancient Greek agora, the public square where ideas were traded like coins.

What is the Sanctuary?
The Sanctuary is our classroom—a space for structured learning. Experienced members offer guided courses, workshops, and lecture series on specific traditions, texts, or skills. These are cohort-based experiences with syllabi, resources, and live discussions.

What is the Scribe's Scrolls?
The Scribe's Scrolls is our blog—the ongoing chronicle of the Collective. Members transform their insights, research, and reflections into polished articles and essays for the community and the wider world. It is our voice to the world and our record for ourselves.

Do I need to be an expert to join?
Absolutely not. The Praxis Collective is a place for seekers at all stages of the journey. What matters is not how much you know, but your willingness to learn, to question, and to engage with humility and curiosity.

Do I need to believe in anything specific?
No. We are not a religion. We are not a cult. We are not a secret society (though we do enjoy a good mystery). We are a community of seekers who approach ancient wisdom with reverence, curiosity, and critical thinking. Members come from many backgrounds—scholars, skeptics, practitioners, and everything in between.

How do I join?
Enter through the Agora—our Facebook Group is the primary gathering place. From there, you'll find your way to the Arcanum, the Scriptorium, and all the other rooms of the Collective.

Is this a safe space?
Yes. We take the protection of our community seriously. What is shared in the Collective stays in the Collective. We do not tolerate harassment, discrimination, or cruelty. See our Code of Conduct for details.

How much time does it require?
As much or as little as you wish. Some members participate daily. Others join for a monthly book discussion and then retreat. The Collective is patient. The path is long. Walk it at your own pace.

Is there a cost?
The Agora, the Arcanum, the Scriptorium Society, and the Scribe's Scrolls are free to all members. Some special courses in the Sanctuary may have a fee to support the work of the instructor. Details will be shared when those opportunities arise.
